Colin Kaepernick Was Sleeping

Was Colin Kaepernick protesting? Or was he just caught sleeping?

How many times have you had to suffer through poor arrangements of NationalAnthem The Star-Spangled Banner? Or, worse yet, lousy performances of what is supposed to be a song of great pride and prestige? It can be embarrassing, aggravating, or, in Kaepernick’s case, somnolence-inducing.

It’s time to move away from the same-ol’ same-ol’. No more glissandos, mordents, and fancy ornaments meant only to showcase talent, and not to inspire. No more tried and tired vocal exercises. No more sad renditions and arrangements of our national anthem. And, of course, no more just plain bad music. We want to be proud of who and what we are.

Let’s try something new. That’ll keep #ColinKaepernick awake.
